Dear Praying Friends,
At the same time in our world of considerable chaos and conflict, one seemingly unending war needs to be brought to an end through diplomatic negotiation, and another off and on one needs to be intensified with military intervention to bring about its end. These two war scenarios, each with a different approach to achieving peace, are the focus for our united prayer today.
Let's start with the probable military intervention that needs to be undertaken to save the Iranian people from the horrific, murderous regime that has already killed tens of thousands of them just for protesting its awful tyranny. The "monster mullahs" have ruled Iran for about 47 years, bringing nothing but there evil and oppressive Islamic ideology to that nation and exporting that as the main state-sponsor of terrorism around the world. Many thousands of brave Iranians have already stood up against them and paid with their lives. University students have continued that courageous uprising the past weekend. Forced disappearances, secret torture and endless executions, with food and medicine at a critical shortage for all now characterize this progressively worsening situation.
At the same time, Iran has what some say is the fastest growing house church movement in the world. An Iranian Christian leader just told me that the only positive result is that through such Islamist-guided massacres more and more Muslims there are waking up to that false, demonic religion and turning to Jesus. He also said what is happening now is a matter of real spiritual warfare and asks us to pray with the faith and authority Jesus has given us to bind the Prince of Persia (Dan. 10). That demonic principality which delayed an answer being given to Daniel's intercession is still active as "a delaying spirit", so the regime is constantly trying to "negotiate" as it is doing now to delay any rightful military intervention. Also, he wants us to bind with our authoritative praying the spirit of Allah which he calls "a dark and violent" demonic entity that has motivated the killing of over 40,000 Iranian protesters so far. Let's pray accordingly, joining with others in our families, or with friends in church or prayer groups to agree these evil spirits will be completely bound and their influence nullified and broken so Iran and its people will be delivered and inherit a new nation!
A great American woman of God, Anne Graham Lotz, is now sending a beautiful, uplifting letter to comfort, encourage and strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please pray that it will get through by satellite broadcast to be shared and read throughout the underground churches. Pray that the believers there will pray with unity, authority and faith in the midst of the tumult, and that their cries as well as ours, supporting them from the distance, will be used by the Lord to turn the tide.
Pray also that President Trump and the US military forces, along with those from Israel and any other allies, will delay no longer and act with unhesitating decisivenes to remove the demon-driven Khamenei, other radical mullahs, and the leadership of the Revolutionary Guard that carries out their mass murder. May the Lord also inspire those within Iran's military to support their people and rise up forcefully and effectively against the regime, so that Iran can have a free, prosperous and bright future!
The ongoing, pointless war of mutual destruction that has devastated both countries and caused the deaths of more than a million on both sides, as well as massive numbers of both soldiers and civilians injured along with crushing infrastructural damage, is the one between Ukraine and Russia. Tomorrow, Feb. 25 to March 1 a multi-national group of Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians will gather in a neutral country for a special reconciliation prayer initiative.
A friend and colleague in the international prayer movement, VN, is hosting a crucial reconciliation gathering in a neutral country for Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian ministry people who have a heart to see that awful war ended. Let's please undergird this important time which the Lord could use to turn the tide as He often does when Jesus followers represent their warring nations and enter into such reconciliation in His presence through united prayer. With teams of other prayer facilitators, I have personally witnessed Him ending many conflicts this way since we and all believers carry His delegated authority and faith-filled prayer across the lines of battle. As spiritual leaders transact business with God, He moves political leaders to implement that transaction by agreeing on peace terms after we have come to that place of unity and agreement in sincere repentance, heartfelt reconciliation and prevailing prayer.
Let's therefore believe Him for His breakthroughs as these brothers and sisters gather tomorrow, Wednesday, for this noble and crucially essential purpose.
From VN, describing the vision God gave him for this initiative:
"The Lord gave me a vision how to begin to connect believers from these three nations, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. I saw the border between Ukraine and Belarus and following the line going down with Ukraine and Russia, all the way to the contested region. The border was like a deep wound that was infected and infection was spreading deeper and wider. In fear I exclaimed, "Lord this will affect the whole region and beyond." Then I heard, "you must pray and search for believers from both sides of the border. Believers who will accept the attitude of humility, humbleness, reconciliation and prayer, to stop the infection of war spreading even beyond where it is now." I tried to be obedient and faithful to this vision."
He asks us to pray: "Let us pray and act that His Kingdom will come and His will be done here on earth as it is in Heaven. And, we all have part in implementing the Kingdom of God and His will, now!"
May I add the following points:
2. For VN and his ground team as they facilitate and serve this very strategic international gathering, to do so with His wisdom, unity, peace and joy.
3. Some travel and accommodation costs have been provided, but it is still an expensive undertaking. Let's pray that all the participants can raise the travel funding they need and get there safely and without hassles on Wednesday.
4. That all the participants will come spiritually prepared to play their part and that every attempt of the evil one to disrupt or hinder this gathering will be bound and blocked in the name of Jesus. (Matt 18:18-20 and Luke 10:17-20).
5. For great sensitivity to the Holy Spirit with the presence of Jesus as CEO so that His breakthroughs will end the pointless, destructive war that has killed in excess of one million people. For the active fighting to end and all the remaining impediments to a peace agreement to be removed as they and we in support all agree for this in intercession.
Thanks so much for your prayers that the Lord, the Prince of Peace, the One who "makes wars cease to the ends of the earth", will use to transform both situations no matter how humanly hopeless they appear to be (Isaiah 9:2,6-7 and Psalm 46:9-11).
